Gridfire

Your chat plays. Everyone shoots.

Gridfire is a free-for-all grid shooter played entirely through Twitch chat. Viewers join with one command, then every turn they all type their move at the same time. When the clock runs out, everything happens at once. Last one standing wins.

Everyone can see what everyone else typed, and you can change your command until the clock hits zero. Bluff, counter, and outsmart chat.

How to play (viewers)

• Join: type !gridfire while the lobby is open
• Each turn: type !g MOVE ACTION. Either part can be left out. Your last one before the clock runs out counts.
• Rules in chat: !gridfire help

Move

• r or right, l or left, u or up, d or down
• add a digit 1-3 (shoot, mine, and dodge are capped at 2 spaces)
• eg: r2,  left1, u3

Actions

• Shoot sr sl su sd: flies in a straight line until it hits a wall or a player. You can move up to 2 first.
• Knife kr kl ku kd: hits the square right next to you, and goes before shots. You can move up to 3 first.
• Mine mr ml mu md: drops a hidden mine next to you. It goes live next turn and kills anyone who moves onto or across it, including you. You can move up to 2 first.
• Dodge dg: no attack, but knives and shots can't hit you. Dodge a real attack and your next attack goes first. You can't dodge two turns in a row.

Examples: !g r2 sd (move right 2, shoot down) · !g u3 kl (move up 3, knife left) · !g dg (dodge in place)

Turn order

Move → mines go off → knives → shots → walls close in. If you die earlier in the order, your attack doesn't happen. From turn 6, the walls close in every 2 turns, so nobody can hide forever.

For streamers

• One HTML file. Add it to OBS as a Browser Source. No install, no server.
• Start a game with !start gridfire (you and your mods only)
• Up to 26 players, 30-second turns, rounds take about 5 to 10 minutes
• Pause, skip turns, remove players and add bots from the OBS Interact window
• Works alongside Nightbot and other chat bots
• First-time setup takes about 15–25 minutes; full steps are in the included README
